NATURE & WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

All around the world, several ecological treasures and wildlife species are facing destruction or extinction due to a combination of climate change, and the economic and political actions of humans. Here are a few examples:

Amazon Rainforest

The Amazon rainforest, the world's largest, is believed to be home to 10% of all known species on Earth. Over 20% of the rainforest has already been destroyed due to deforestation by humans. At the current pace of deforestation, 27% of the forest will have disappeared by 2030 causing a massive tipping point in climate change.

Coral

As a result of rising ocean temperatures, 72% of the world's coral reefs are experiencing bleaching, a process in which coral reefs die due to a lack of nutrition.

CONSERVATION OF HISTORICAL & CULTURAL SITES

Historical & Cultural treasures around the world are being threatened by rising sea levels, increasing air pollution, acid rain, global warming, droughts, floods, wildfires, and other climate change related effects. Here are a few examples:

Easter Island (Rapa Nui), Chile

Polynesians arrived on this remote island in the south-eastern Pacific Ocean as early as 1200 A.D. These settlers, known as the Rapa Nui, created a thriving culture, most famous today for the exquisitely carved moai statues that can be found all around the island. These statues are at risk from rising sea levels and increasingly intense winds and storms.

Chan Chan, Peru

Located in a particularly arid section of the coastal desert of northern Peru, Chan Chan was the historical capital of the Chimú empire from 900 to 1470 AD. The elaborate mudbrick structures and carvings at the site are at risk from erosion caused by increasingly intense rain storms.

OUR PROJECTS

We are working with various organizations to explore how our 360 video, and Virtual & Augmented Reality capabilities can be employed to engage, educate and energize people and increase the effectiveness of ecological, wildlife, historical & cultural conservation efforts.
